Winter Sunset

Jill and I would like to wish all our readers a Happy New year!

Here’s my first outing of 2019 just yesterday evening during a very dark and damp winter when the sun finally came out just in time for it to to set, so I rushed out to grab a few images before the light faded. My camera still had its new little 50mm and so I stuck with that.

Processing was easy, I brightened it slightly in camera raw and knocked back the whites and highlights. I then opened it up in Nik Colour Pro and chose our Lavender Pastel Nik Fly Preset from the Pastel texture pack we launched last summer and used it as it was. I could have lightened the ploughed field but was in a hurry so left it. I then opened it in Topaz Impression and used the Studio Landscape App with Basic Correction number 745 that is shipped as it was to boost the colours and soften.

Next, I opened the free Russell Brown Adobe paper texture panel in Photoshop 2018 with our recent Flypaper Celestial texture pack to quickly pull the image together and enhance its atmosphere.

Virgo @ 100% Overlay

Carina @ 29% Soft Light

Bellatrix @ 29% Soft Light

The Celestial Painterly Pack contains 50 rectangular shaped textures which have a minimum size of 6000 by 4000 pixels and are at industry printing standard 300ppi.

All our textures can be used in any editing programme that supports the use of layers, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Gimp etc You can also use our textures on your iPad, Android and smart phones if you have the Photoshop Touch app installed. You can only use them in Lightroom if you use an add-on that allows Lightroom to use layers such as Perfect Layers.
